Add a Custom Domain

Add a Custom Domain

Use your own domain (yourname.com) as your Sleeve artist page instead of yourname.sleeve.fm. Sleeve powers everything behind the scenes... fans only see your domain.

Custom domain is included on every plan, including Free. No upgrade needed.

What changes when you connect a domain

  • Fans see your URL in the address bar (yourname.com instead of yourname.sleeve.fm)
  • Your Sleeve artist page becomes your main website
  • Sleeve automatically handles SSL (HTTPS), routing, and redirects
  • Your old yourname.sleeve.fm link still works and redirects to your new domain

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A domain you already own (from any registrar... GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Cloudflare, whoever)
  • Access to update DNS records at your registrar

If you don't have a domain yet, buy one first (a .com usually runs around $12/year). Once you own it, come back here.

Step-by-step setup

1. Open your artist dashboard.

Open the Your Sleeve menu in the top-right of any page and choose Manage. You'll land on your artist dashboard at app.sleeve.fm/manage/yourname.

2. Go to Settings → Use Your Own Domain.

Click the Settings tab. Scroll to Use Your Own Domain.

3. Enter your domain.

Type the domain you want to use (for example, yourname.com). No https://, no www., just the domain.

Click Save and verify domain. Sleeve generates the DNS records you need to add at your registrar.

4. Add the DNS records at your registrar.

Open your domain registrar in another tab and find the DNS management section (sometimes called "DNS Records," "Manage DNS," or "Advanced DNS").

For each record Sleeve shows you, create a record at your registrar with the matching type, host/name, and value. Use the copy icon next to each record... or click Copy all records at once if someone else manages your DNS for you and you want to forward them everything in one paste.

5. Wait for DNS to propagate.

Most DNS changes appear within minutes. Full global propagation can take up to 24–48 hours. Sleeve checks automatically and shows your domain's status as one of three states:

  • Not connected yet... you haven't entered a domain
  • Pending... DNS records added, still propagating
  • Connected... your domain is pointing to Sleeve and live

You can come back to your Settings tab anytime to check. We'll also email you when your domain goes live.

Switching to your new domain

Once your status reads Connected, your custom domain is live. Update your link-in-bio, social profiles, EPK, and any printed materials to point to your custom domain instead of yourname.sleeve.fm.

Your yourname.sleeve.fm URL keeps working forever, so old links and shares don't break.

Common questions

How long does it take to go live?

Most DNS updates appear within minutes, but full global propagation can take up to 24–48 hours. Sleeve checks status automatically and emails you when your domain is connected.

Will my old Sleeve URL still work?

Yes. Your yourname.sleeve.fm URL keeps working and redirects to your new domain.

Can I change or remove my custom domain later?

Yes. You can disconnect or change your domain at any time from your Settings tab. After disconnecting, update your DNS records at your registrar so they no longer point to Sleeve.

Do I need to keep my domain registered with a specific company?

No. Sleeve works with any registrar that lets you set DNS records (which is almost all of them).

What if my domain isn't connecting?

Double-check that the DNS records at your registrar exactly match what Sleeve shows in your Settings tab. The most common issue is a typo in the value field, or having a leftover old A record that's overriding the new one.

If it's been more than 48 hours and the status still reads Pending, reply to support@sleeve.fm and we'll help you troubleshoot.

Why use a custom domain

Your Sleeve page works fine at yourname.sleeve.fm. But using your own domain:

  • Reinforces that you (not Sleeve) are the brand
  • Survives any platform shift... if you ever moved off Sleeve, your URL doesn't change
  • Reads more professionally for press, bookers, and labels
  • Shows up cleaner in search results

Custom domain is included on every Sleeve plan, including Free. There's no reason not to use one if you have it.
