Livestreaming on Sleeve
Livestreaming on Sleeve
You can go live directly from your Sleeve artist account... no extra gear, no separate platform, no OBS. Choose between live camera streaming and uploading a pre-recorded video. Either way, the broadcast happens on your Sleeve page with fans in the chat.
Livestreaming is a paid Sleeve feature. It unlocks on Pro and above, and only appears as a dashboard tab once enabled on your account. See Pricing for details.
What you can stream
- Live camera... broadcast in real time from your camera and mic. Best for performance, conversation, Q&As, anything where being live is the point
- Pre-recorded video... upload a video file and host a watch party while it plays. You're in the chat with your fans, the video plays for everyone, and the moment still feels collective. Best for music video premieres, performance recordings, documentary content, or any time you want a polished video to anchor a real-time conversation
Scheduling a stream
- Open your artist dashboard (open the Your Sleeve menu in the top-right, choose Manage).
- Click the Livestreams tab. (If you don't see it, livestreaming isn't enabled on your account yet... reach out to support and we'll get you set up.)
- Click Schedule.
- Add a title, description, date, and time. Pick the format (live camera or pre-recorded video). Choose who can watch (public, followers, specific membership tiers).
- Sleeve generates a countdown page and a calendar invite so your fans know when to show up.
For the full dashboard walkthrough, see Manage Your Artist Profile.
Ideas for what to stream
Live camera
- First-listen party for an unreleased song
- Request set where fans pick the songs in real time
- Behind-the-scenes from a rehearsal, writing session, or studio
- Q&A with no agenda
- Living-room set with one mic and a guitar
- Pre-tour warm-up before you hit the road
Pre-recorded video
- Music video premiere with you in the chat reacting
- Studio session video where you walk fans through what happened
- Performance recordings from recent shows
- Documentary-style content with live Q&A after
Do this weekly, monthly, once a year... whatever feels natural for you and the fans showing up.
Tech setup
You don't need professional gear. The basics:
For live camera:
- A strong internet connection (8 Mbps upload minimum). Run Google's speed test if you're not sure
- A laptop with a built-in camera and mic works for most streams
- External mic, camera, or audio interface if you want to step up the quality
- Wired Ethernet beats Wi-Fi for reliability
For pre-recorded video:
- Upload an MP4 for best compatibility
- Watch through the file once before scheduling to confirm it plays cleanly
- Have a few talking points ready for the chat... fans will ask questions and react in real time, and pre-planned responses keep the energy up
Promoting the stream
Treat the stream like a real show. Build anticipation.
- Announce 7-10 days out with 3+ social posts, plus a Sleeve post or Note to nudge your followers
- Share your Sleeve link in bios and stories during the lead-up
- Run a poll if you're not sure what time works for your fans
- Send personal invites to the fans most likely to show up
- For premieres, tease the content without giving it away
For more on inviting fans to your Sleeve page, see Sharing Your Sleeve Profile.
After the stream
- Post a thank-you and short clips to social with anyone who joined tagged
- Add the recording to your Sleeve page. We'll email you when the file is finished processing so you can choose where it lives... a member-only post, a free post, an Extra attached to a release
- Package memorable moments into something more permanent. A great live take can become an Extra on a release page, a stand-alone member-only post, or even part of a future EP
