Creating Your Artist Account on Sleeve
Creating Your Artist Account on Sleeve
Your artist account is the foundation of your site, releases, email list, and fan hub on Sleeve. Setup takes a couple of minutes and your page is live the moment you finish.
Free to start. No credit card required. No application or approval queue.
Step 1: Sign up
Start by creating your account.
This login is your user account... it's how you sign into Sleeve. It's separate from your artist page. One user account can manage multiple artist accounts (useful for side projects, bands, labels, and managers... more on that below).
Step 2: Tell us about your artist or band
Once you've signed in, you'll fill in a short form to set up your public artist page:
- Artist type... solo, band, producer, composer
- Artist name... what fans search for
- Your Sleeve URL...
yourname.sleeve.fm. Pick something short and memorable. You can change this later if you need to - Your social and music links... Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, TikTok, Bandcamp, your existing website, anywhere you live online. Drop in what you have
- Why are you joining Sleeve?... one or two sentences. Helps us understand who's joining and tailor what we build next
That's the whole onboarding form. No phone number, no IDs, no verification queue.
Step 3: Sleeve drafts your page for you
While Step 2 is finishing, Sleeve uses your social and music links to do most of the page-setup work for you:
- Your bio gets drafted. We pull from your existing coverage and your Wikipedia summary (if there is one), then write a clean, journalist-voice first pass. You can edit, replace, or rewrite it from scratch
- Your avatar and banner get generated. Default versions are created based on your profile so your page never looks empty on day one. Replace them with your own artwork whenever you have something better
- Your social icons get pre-filled. The links you dropped in at signup populate your profile so fans can find you on every platform you're on
You walk through a review screen, edit anything that's off, and continue.
Step 4: You're live
The moment you finish the review, your artist page goes live at yourname.sleeve.fm. You're dropped straight into your artist dashboard where you can:
- Site Editor... refine your bio, social links, and the look of your page
- Releases... add albums, EPs, singles
- Posts... share updates with your fans
- Subscribers... import your existing mailing list from Mailchimp, Substack, Bandcamp, wherever
What's next
A few things worth doing once you're in:
- Edit your bio + replace the default avatar and banner with your own. The AI drafts are starting points; everything's editable
- Connect your custom domain (
yourname.com)... included on every plan, including Free. See Adding a Custom Domain - Import your mailing list... bring fans from Mailchimp, Substack, Bandcamp, Patreon, wherever. See Import Your Email List
- Build your EPK... auto-generated from your profile, ready in under 90 seconds. See Your EPK, Built In
- Add your first release... see Adding Your Releases
Already on Sleeve? Need another artist page?
If you're a label, manager, band member, or producer who runs more than one artist page, you don't need a separate user account for each. One login can manage many artist pages.
To spin up another artist under your existing login, open the Your Sleeve menu in the top-right of any page and choose Create another artist. Walk through the same Step 2 + 3 flow for the new artist, and you'll have a second page live under the same login.
Two accounts, not one
When you signed up, we created two things for you... a user account (you, the person) and an artist account (your public page). They're separate on purpose.
This trips up almost everyone on day one. If you're confused about which is which, read User Account vs. Artist Account.
Welcome aboard
Once your page is set up, you're ready to add releases, post updates, and start bringing your fans home.
If anything's confusing, reply to support@sleeve.fm. We read every email and use it to fix things for the next person.
