FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sleeve?
Sleeve is your music, your fans, and your home... in one place. It replaces the scattered stack of tools most artists are forced to duct-tape together (Bandcamp + Mailchimp + Linktree + Squarespace + Patreon) with one system built specifically for musicians. You get an artist website, releases with a built-in player, email and newsletters, paid memberships, livestreams, and a fan list that's actually yours.
We never take a cut of your sales. 0% platform fee.
What is Sleeve not?
Sleeve isn't a streaming service, a label, or a social network. We don't run ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't pit artists against each other in an attention algorithm. We're infrastructure for artists who want to own their relationship with their fans.
Does Sleeve have an app?
Not yet. You can use Sleeve from any browser on desktop or mobile, and you can install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for an app-like experience from your home screen. A native mobile app is on the roadmap.
Who can join Sleeve?
Any musician. Signup is free, takes a couple of minutes, and there's no application or approval queue... your artist page is live the moment you finish onboarding.
Whether you're an independent solo artist, a band, a producer, a composer, or part of a label or management roster, Sleeve is built to work for you.
Can fans join Sleeve too?
Yes. Fans can follow artists, join membership tiers, and engage with posts, releases, and Notes. You don't need to be an artist to use Sleeve... you just need to care about the artists you're following.
Following is free. Paid memberships are set per-artist by the artist.
What does Sleeve cost?
Free to start, no credit card required. The Free plan includes your artist page, custom domain, releases with a built-in player, and email for up to 250 subscribers.
Paid plans unlock memberships, commerce, livestreams, advanced analytics, team members, and email at scale. Pricing starts at $13/month (billed annually) and scales with your audience.
Full details on the Pricing page.
How do artists get paid?
Payouts go through Stripe, directly to your bank account. Sleeve never takes a cut... 0% platform fee on everything you sell, every membership you charge, every dollar a fan pays you. Standard Stripe processing (2.9% + 30¢) applies, but that goes to Stripe, not us.
Connect your Stripe account from your artist settings to receive payouts. More on getting paid.
How is Sleeve different from Patreon?
Sleeve is built specifically for musicians. Patreon was built for "creators" in general... podcasters, writers, illustrators, vloggers... and music is a side concern.
Practical differences:
- Releases are first-class. Albums, EPs, singles, and extras work like a real release page, not a paywalled blog post. Streaming, downloads, and gated tracks are built in.
- Your music isn't an "exclusive perk." On Patreon, paid tiers usually mean "bonus content to keep supporters fed." On Sleeve, your music itself is the offering... early access, special editions, live recordings, member-only tracks, direct support.
- Your page is a real website. It's your home online, not a profile on someone else's platform. Custom domain included, even on Free.
- 0% platform fee. Patreon takes 8–12%. We take 0%. You keep everything except standard Stripe processing.
Can I share my music on Sleeve if it's already on streaming platforms?
Yes. Many artists use Sleeve as the deeper home alongside Spotify, Apple Music, and the rest... early access, exclusive tracks, demos, live recordings, and unreleased material live on Sleeve, while the public catalog stays on streaming.
You must own the rights to any music you upload, per the Terms of Service. If your music is under a label or publishing deal, make sure you have the rights to distribute it on Sleeve.
How do I invite my fans to Sleeve?
Share your Sleeve page link (yourname.sleeve.fm or your custom domain) anywhere you'd normally share a link... social bios, email signature, posters, QR codes. Fans can follow you for free or subscribe to a paid membership tier.
More on sharing your profile.
Can I refer other artists to Sleeve?
Yes. Refer an artist who upgrades to a paid plan, get one month free on your Sleeve subscription. Credits stack... refer five artists who upgrade, get five months free.
