Getting Paid on Sleeve

Getting Paid on Sleeve

Sleeve uses Stripe to handle payments and payouts. Fans pay through Stripe. Stripe deposits to your bank. Sleeve never touches the money.

0% platform fee. You keep everything except standard Stripe processing (2.9% + 30¢). Sleeve takes nothing.

What you get paid for

Once your Stripe is connected and you're on a paid plan, you earn from:

  • Membership subscriptions... fans paying for ongoing access to your tiers
  • Release sales... fans buying albums, EPs, singles, or extras you've priced
  • Anything else Sleeve adds to direct-monetization (currently the above two)

Memberships and release sales both require a paid Sleeve plan (Pro or higher). The Free plan covers your artist site, releases, email, and posts, but doesn't include paid features. See Pricing.

How money flows

  1. A fan buys a release or subscribes to a membership on your page.
  2. Stripe processes the card. Standard Stripe processing applies: 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction. That goes to Stripe, not Sleeve.
  3. The remainder lands in your Stripe account.
  4. Stripe pays out to your bank on the schedule you set in your Stripe dashboard.

Sleeve takes 0%. We don't sit between Stripe and your bank account.

You can see every transaction in your Stripe dashboard. Your artist dashboard also shows what's coming in (new members, paid release downloads, etc.).

Payout schedule

Stripe handles payout timing. Depending on your country and Stripe account setup, payouts can be:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly

You can adjust your schedule from your Stripe dashboard once your account is connected.

Setting up your payouts

To get paid, connect Stripe through Sleeve. Takes a few minutes.

1. Open your artist dashboard.

Open the Your Sleeve menu in the top-right and choose Manage.

2. Click the Stripe tab.

It appears in your dashboard once you're on a paid plan and ready to take payouts. Click it and follow the prompts.

3. Choose country and currency.

Stripe asks for your country and the currency you want payouts in. This routes payouts correctly... pick the currency that matches your bank account.

4. Provide identity and bank details.

Stripe asks for:

  • Bank account details for deposits
  • Photo ID for identity verification (required by financial regulations)
  • Business type (individual, sole proprietor, company, etc.)

Stripe encrypts and stores all of this. Sleeve never sees or stores your banking or ID documents.

5. Wait for Stripe approval.

Once Stripe approves your account (usually minutes, sometimes up to a day or two for additional verification), you're set to receive payouts.

Why Stripe?

Stripe powers payouts for Substack, Kickstarter, Patreon, Shopify, and millions of independent businesses. Using Stripe means:

  • Your financial data is secure (PCI-compliant, never on Sleeve's servers)
  • Multiple regions and currencies supported out of the box
  • Tax handling, refunds, and chargebacks work the way you'd expect

Once you're set up, fans paying you is a direct line between them, Stripe, and your bank. No middlemen.
